I want to install a blackview 2ch dashcam in my macan and I was wondering if anyone has opened up their car yet to find the location of the prewired connectors. I am planning on retrofitting the connectors in a similar way as in this taycan post. What are the chances that these are located in a similar place?

Thanks!

I’m very interested to hear how your installation goes and how you like the Blackvue dashcam. I’m considering buying the Blackvue DR970X-2CH LTE Plus for my 4S which will be delivered at the end of November.

In the meantime, you might want to check this thread for additional information:

I had a Blackview on my previous car, and have bought the latest model this time around for my Macan (husband also has the same on his Taycan and ford Ranger). I'd definitely recommend them over the standard Porsche offering.

@SuperH
Would that be DR970X-2CH LTE Plus?

Has yours already been installed?

I’ll be interested to hear how the installation goes since I’ve heard differing opinions on how difficult it is to setup viewing while parked without draining the battery. Did you purchase the Blackvue B-130X battery as well?

I’m debating between the DR970X-2CH LTE Plus and the DR970X Box-2CH Plus. Either way, I’ll probably wait until others have successfully installed Blackvue dashcams in the Macan EV.

This should not be a problem with the prewired camera option. It is very likely that the macan is the same setup as in this taycan post which then gives you ACC that your camera can leverage to enter parking mode (and thus not drain the battery).

Yes it sounds like the people who has the prewired option has a simpler way to hard wire a Dashcam with parking mode by creating a harness of some sort. The people who don't have the pre-wire option (unfortunately me) may have a more difficult time. As noted in a previous post of mine, it sounded like there are some examples of installers being able to do it without the prewire options but some of the details are lacking.

I'll feed back once mine has been installed in January. The UK spec Macan comes pre-wired so I'm hoping it will be easy enough. I didn't have any issues with the Blackview draining the battery of my etron, so I'm hoping for the same on the Macan.

All you need to know about the pre-wired location, and the specifics to install the Porsche dashcam.
Also about the fuses (p16)

Thank you very much for posting this. I'm guessing the fuse in the passenger side footwell is always on (being that the overhead harness has a switched 12v and an always on 12v) and there is a relay somewhere after. I'm testing with a multimeter as we speak.

I had a harness but it had not power, now it makes sense as there was no fuse in the slot that the instructions mention.
