Has anyone had a problem where the button won't close.

I don't have comfort access, but when I press the close button, it attempts to close, moves a bit and then beeps.

The only way I could get it to close is to pull the boot down half way and press the button again.

I didnt have any issues before the update either

I think there's a proximity sensor so if you don't move away from the boot, it will beep at you and not close.

Try pushing the button and moving away.

Sounds like it is detecting an obstruction of some kind.

Don't stand too close once you've pressed close.

May need to relearn the position.

Lock car and leave for a while.

I tried resetting the boot opening height by holding the button, but that didn't resolve it. It's happened twice this week. I thought it detects obstructions from resistance on the struts.

It's gotten ev worse now. Everytime I open the boot it won't close at all. Keeps giving a beep as though there is a obstruction. Opening from the drivers seat, same thing, can't close it again from inside the car.

Anyone know how to disconnect the 12v battery and let it reset and recalibrate? .

Last time the AA guy undone the bolt but the car was still powered, he had to do one more thing before it went off. I wish I asked at the time.

I had this problem too. The solve was to set the boot lid open height at the mid way point, and then open and close it a few times (it should only open up to that midway point). Then, I could push the boot lid up higher, set it and it would close. See if that helps.

Thank you so much, that worked. I did it at the half way mark, set that height. And that managed to close. Then I pushed it to the height I wanted and set it again and it works now.

I think because I adjusted it by an inch or two earlier in the week, it could be confused the position I moved it to.

My old X5, you set the height from the menu instead.

Also proximity and if key is present. So press the button to close and step away quickly to see if that works if not then dealership.

I tried standing at the side of the car and it didn't like it.

I think I caused the problem by adjusting it by 2 inches and trying to set it again.

Setting it half way and then doing it to the proper height seems to have resolved it in the end.

Was getting worried as I used to be able to open and close from the driver's seat previously and that had stopped working.

My BMW does this *if* the key is actually in the boot, i.e. in a jacket. Maybe the Macan sensor for the key is too sensitive?
