I had exactly the same query when agreeing my final spec in July last year (I took delivery in November) and ended up adding the Porsche puddle lights, as I wanted some form of under door lighting and no one was sure at that time whether there would be non-branded lights, or nothing at all. Having come from an etron myself that had the four rings it was just a gimmick that I knew I'd miss if I didn't have the same, but wasn't really an essential for the price. However my car goes through my husband's company so I was able to have all the toys on it lol

For those wondering the official Porsche puddle lights have the fonts much smaller than the AliExpress ones. I got the official ones for the front doors and tried to supplement the rear ones but they don’t match. Anybody in Canada who wants to buy the AliExpress one DM me

Not that I want to mess with it at this point, but I find the official porsche light to be a bit too small. If I were you I think you could ‘upgrade‘ by replacing all of them with the aliexpress lights with the bigger font.

My wife was actually more critical and thought they should have had the projection of the Porsche emblem/crest. This is similar to what Mercedes does and I do agree would probably look nicer (assuming the projection could get enough detail of the crest). Anyone seen a Porsche crest light on aliexpress?

Ooh….the crest and the Porsche name under it would be potentially nice….of course all in the context of customizing my puddle lights seems a bit over the top. lol

I ordered the crest + text versions, but my vehicle is still sitting the dealer delivery room at the moment awaiting PPF and ceramic coating. I should have it Wednesday.

I ordered a set (logo + text) from Ali on February 18th but unfortunately I haven't received anything yet. As soon as it arrives I'll take a picture.

I got the official Porsche ones. I think they’re $160 per pair. I don’t mess with Ali express and electrical components on an electric vehicle. Relatively easy to install takes some force to pull out the original lights from the door panel.

I too ordered my directly from Porsche. More expensive than Aliexpress but still half the cost of including it in my build. Looks great although note the original lights had a solid red bar showing from the side of the door whereas the new puddle lights have two red sections when illuminated (see photo below).

The original puddle lights also had the electric plug in the center whereas the projector lights had the plug offset to one side. Doesn’t really matter since the door panel has a fairly large opening where the light fixture snaps in.

It was easy to pop out the original light with a pry tool although it took a fair amount of force to snap the new ones back into the door panel. I found it worked best to first seat the clips on the long/back side with the electric plug first, then use a lot of pressure to push in the front/red side of the light.

As @Frankie and others (including myself) have found - the connector is purely dependant on which ‘model’ you ordered (10316 vs 10311) with the latter being like the original puddle light (location of connector being in the middle) - thankfully connectors-types are the same for both models (as many have confirmed).

You had me running out to check the whole ‘bifurcated’ red light situation - again I think due to the projector being in the centre. Mine are the same (I had forgotten!) but when I went to check some photos I took of the original puddle light (with text) at my Dealer that I used for my research it turns out they’re also the same (split) - although the projector module seems different.

I bought and installed the exact same ones and I can confirm they are exactly as you have them pictured. They look good if you like the logo.

I was not sure about the logo when ordering, but it was low cost, low commitment, since they are easy to swap out. I ordered from the Ali Express LINK listed in this thread.
