Weird Smoke and Burning Smell from Air Vents in My Macan 4 – Anyone Else?

Poland is thankfully very close to Germany, would be much worse if it had to be shipped from say California.

I would also argue that I’d much prefer my car to be reviewed in Leipzig by their top guys than at any dealership here where everyone is clueless (not discussing the reasons why).

Overall it sucks @piter95’s car has this issue and I do hope Porsche will take care of him given all the headaches.
But this could mean finding root cause and fixing for Piter and everyone else down the road - I think it’s great!

same issue here, 4 weeks old Macan 4 EV.
1500 km total so far. Driving in the highway after aprox 50 km white smoke coming from the cockpit exhausts. Driving with AC ON 22deg.C aprox

strange smell but only for a few seconds. the dealership has no idea what it could be.

@peter have you had any news from germany ?

Wow! Seems that a recall is on the way for all the cars…

No news, I know they picked the car on Friday and they are transporting it from Czech republic to Germany !
I’ll keep you posted guys!

...Mostly yes,this is indeed true...Except a situation known as "electrical fire" where the smoke (usually white and with a very distinctive smell!!) comes from electrical components and occurs before the actual flames (i.e. fire) appear. Should such a situation remain without taken care off, it's almost certain the malfunctioned component (maybe even a simple wire) will burst in real flames.

Not saying anyone is using their EV wrong, as it should be designed such that it can't happen, but ...

The funny thing is that, the first time I brought the car to the service they said: “everything is fine”.
I wonder if everything would be fine also if I would have kept driving it, and then if it would have caught on fire (maybe even with me inside).

but I’m really really happy they are bringing it back to Germany ! If I’m the “patient zero„ we will all get benefit from there… I just wonder what I will get back for being without car for over a month…

Update… still no news from the car… I came back from holidays yesterday and Porsche was “so nice” to borrow me the same “Macan EV” model I have. Brand new so they told me I can keep it with unlimited kms till they will not “investigate/fix” mine.

Hello, I just got my new Macan 4 EV few days back and yesterday after driving it for a couple of minutes white smoke started coming out, I stopped the car immediately and had it taken back to Porsche for a full check. The car has only been driven for 110km only.
please post an update once you know what the issue is as it could be similar to my car.

I will keep you updated as well… I really have a feeling that a recall will come soon… my car is still under investigation at Ludwisburg factory…

Hi all,

picked up my 4S last Friday and besides the fact, that on my first trip (the car now has 90 km on it) a biker crashed into it, I also experienced the smoke and smell in my car. Will call Porsche tomorrow.
