Hmmm, I ordered my car mid October and received the link on 11/15/24. My car arrived to Jacksonville last Saturday and hopefully should be going to the dealership in 1-2 weeks.
I would call my SA and ask for assistance as you should have received the email with the link by now.

As far as I know, US orders prior to the mid November time frame are not supported. My 4S was ordered/assigned late November, TYD was working by the time i got home from the dealer, now waiting for a boat ride.

My order was placed in mid November. Dealer allocation was in October. Freeze point was last week and production should start next week. Should be seeing it in March.

I received an email from Porsche Janurary 7 which it showed up on the app for TYD. I didn't know since it's like the Tesla app, swipe to see another vehicle in your garage.

My 4S's transport ship - RCC Europe - just docked at Long Beach this morning. It's scheduled for Benicia maybe on the 24th.

My dealer in the Seattle area is setting up paperwork and is trying to get all those cars delivered before the end of the month, which seems optimistic with transport and prep required.

Has everyone that got the email and then saw the cars details in the App also have a VIN. I’m really puzzled how I can have a VIN but the car doesn’t go into production until next week ?

Yes, the VIN gets assigned before production. Mine was assigned when I received the notification that: “the manufacturing process of your Porsche is starting soon”, which was about two weeks before the manufacturing started.

Consider the fact that the VIN is in many places (probably a dozen) in the vehicle, not just at the bottom of the windshield. Those parts all need to be prepared for assembly into the correct chassis so it becomes your car.

So the VIN is allocated and the required components are prepared before assembly starts.

Even before that, the vehicles will have a DHR (device history record in ISO standards talk) and that DHR is probably keyed to the VIN, so the first thing that happens when your car creation process starts is likely the creation of a VIN#.
