Nope, that tracks with the expected range for that temperature.

I’ve gotten more miles than that at 4 degrees Celsius, driving style and route (elevation or not), as well as wheels will of course also have an impact.

Have Porsche started Over-promising and under-delivering like some of their competitors?
How do you think the WLTP figures are derived? Manufacturers don't just pluck a figure out of thin air. Cars are tested according to WLTP conditions, and not ones decided on by the manufacturer. So the range figure isn't what Porsche "promises", it's just the result of the WLTP test, which is useless for judging real world range, and only of limited use when comparing against other cars.

(…) I’ve always driven the Taycan with Regen off as it feels like a more natural drive, and it doesn’t make much difference to the range.

No, your taycan had regeneration, but regeneration was activated when you brake. The purpose of this ”no regeneration” mode is to allow coasting.

For the first thousands km, the Macan deactivates regen mostly, no matter the driving mode, in order to break the brakes: that means that when you brake, it only uses the brakes!
In the end, regen will be fully operational and improve drastically efficiency: when you brake, most of the time, the brakes are not used, only regen.
It was more or less the same with your taycan.

If you want long range with your turbo, you must drive it very smoothly. Obviously, if you drive it like a sport car and/or only on highways, you know…
My 22‘’ Turbo is new with almost no regen, and it‘s easy to reach <23kWh/100km under 5-9C, and a mix of 110/135 km/h highway, city traffic jam and secondary roads. I guess 20 kWh/100 km is actually achievable.
we’ll see…

I picked my Macan Turbo up this past Friday. I have 500kms on it. I’m not overly thrilled with the range as shown. I’ve heard it goes up. Are there any Macan Turbo owners out there that have seen a realistic range? I was hoping for 500-600 kms… but I’m in the low 4’s on full charge, high 3’s at 80%. Does this get better?
I have almost 3,000 km on my Macan Turbo fully loaded, with 22" wheels. @ 80% I get only 300-310 and this is still not winter yet here in Canada. This is kind of disappointing.

Disappointing, when EPA rating is 288, at 100%? 🤔

Ooops!
Is it not miles in Canada, like in the US?

I have just taken delivery of a Macan Turbo, having owned a Taycan Turbo for 4.5 years.

When the Taycan was first released, it’s marketed range by Porsche was very conservative (in comparison to Tesla) but buyers were pleasantly surprised by range of 250-260 Summer miles with a new battery.

This gave me faith in Porsche as a company, as they under-promised and over-delivered.

I was therefore shocked this week when my Macan Turbo showed a 262 mile range on a full charge, with the outside temperature at 7.5 degrees centigrade.

Having checked here, it would seem that regen doesn’t kick in on the Macan until about 2000 miles, which ups the range , but how much difference can that really make? I’ve always driven the Taycan with Regen off as it feels like a more natural drive, and it doesn’t make much difference to the range.

The Macan Turbo is marketed as WLTP 367 miles which - even accounting for mild winter conditions in the UK - seems miles off.

Is anyone else concerned by this?

I bought the Macan Turbo to replace an old Macan S, and intended to use it as my long range vehicle, but I was expecting at least 310 miles in mild Winter conditions with a new battery.

Have Porsche started Over-promising and under-delivering like some of their competitors?
About regen kicking in after 2000 miles - my regen was active from day 1/the moment I left the dealership. I can clearly see the average consumption dropping immediately when I push the brake.

That’s disappointing which 22” inch wheels do you have? The plan for me is to switch to 20” winter tires for the Canadian winter

All things being equal (altitude, temperature, wheels), the driving style and mode will account for the differences everyone is seeing.

The cars are pretty much all the same aside from some options: if some of us see higher ranges than others, the only variable is the driver.

Smoother driving is the key.

Just finished a trip from Toronto to Boston in a Macan Turbo. The drive is amazing… but the range is terrible …. The temperature outside ranges from -6 to 3 degrees Celsius. The Planner had me stopping between 185-230 km and the last charge to 85% showed a range of 262km.

Do you have the trip stats and consumption? In the winter I’d imagine myself never trusting the “range” and just be tracking the consumption.

Unlike America, Canada use km rather than miles. He does mention km in the post you're quoting.

Yeah compared to my iX the range and efficiency of the Turbo is disappointing … I’ve really done my best with very moderate driving and still the range was like 100km less then the iX, I know the iX has a 10kwh bigger battery which would account for 50km, but my iX is 3 years old and 60 000km so in reality it lost around 5kwh and then it becomes apparent that the range of the Turbo is terrible , to make it worse my iX is on 22 inch wheels and the Turbo on standard 20’s … if I didn’t lose the VAT I would sell it, now the depreciation hit is to high, and yes there is no other SUV that drives the way the Turbo drives 🤷‍♂️
