Is that right?
In that case, I'm glad I just got Porsche's Sound Package Plus. I'm basically just a radio listener, and it is very good, just as good as BMWs Harman Kardan sound system in the last one I had.
Besides more space underneath ;)
Same for bigger/wider wheels I suspect. Tests are always done on 20in's. Put on 21's or 22's and you lose a fair bit of range. I was humming and hawing about 21's but tuck with 20's. We'll see how they look when I get the car.

I didn't spec powered charge port doors because there were quite a few problems with them when I locked in my configuration. I just didn't want to take a chance on what seemed like a pretty minor upgrade. Turns out, the non-powered charge port doors do not have any lighting (which the powered ones do). THAT is annoying when you're in a dark place trying to plug in. Were I to do it over again, I'd add that option.

The only other options I wavered on were rear wiper and noise insulated glass. Wanted the latter, but it was in low supply and would have delayed delivery. Coming from ICE cars, the Macan is very quiet, so I don't miss it. As far as the rear wiper goes, I don't miss it either. This option has been discussed at length elsewhere on this forum and I fall into the camp that feels the slope of the rear window mitigates much of why you'd want/need one. Rear visibility is pretty constricted in the these cars, so I'm happy to not have anything else impinge upon it. As always, YMMV.

I suspect the subwoofers are a massive drain on the charge.
Hmm I’m not so sure about that. I’m not an audio engineer but my understanding is even if you’re full blasting the subwoofer, the impact should be less than a few miles per hour of range.

The Bose for example is 710 watts, which translates to 0.71kWh if it’s at full blast for an hour, or <2 miles of range

And the Burmester has an ECO mode to limit power consumption if range is a concern. I don’t know if the Bose has this as well.
Bose does have an eco mode but i think it’s a marketing scam. The range impact of speakers is so tiny that even if the speakers are 100% efficient in eco mode (which they can’t be), you’d only earn back 2miles/hr anyway.

I have powered charge port doors and it is one of the areas that I'm concerned about for long term ownership because, if they break, there is no way (that I know of yet) to manually open them. But, I rolled the dice to get auto-close and lighting.

I also have the passenger display and I thought it was likely a long term liability and we're kind of glad we bought it and would do it again.

I'm still on the fence about the best set of wheels to buy because I will likely want every centimeter of range possible on road trips, but I have the less efficient 22" sport wheels. Do I regret it? IDK. Ask me again every year. I think the answer is going to be no regrets because the range of the car on 99% of the days in the year is a non-issue.

I think I would have done the dash cam wiring harness just because I haven't figured out dash cam yet and I may wish I had installed it. A year from now, this should be more fleshed out and known.

I'm glad I demanded Innodrive be in the car against the warnings of the SA.

Roof rails were debated in our household. We have them. It's fine. We'll probably never use them. Just like the tow hitch. If we do use them, we certainly won't be caring about the range issues with 22" sport wheels.

The roof rails are very nicely done, e.g., imo integrating onto the roof as aesthetically pleasing as could be. While not getting them, that integration was “well done Porsche.”

I'd get the 14 ways instead of the 18, but no massage function.

The 18 don't have adjustable headrests and with broad shoulders the top portion is uncomfortable for me. Biggest disappointment on the car. The ICE Macan 18 ways were fantastic, the Taycan 14s were okay, sad to see these be a downgrade so far.

The only thing I would put more attention to is matching matte/glossy elements (side blades, window frames, mirrors, handles and side skirts) to the color and version (4/S/Turbo). My thinking was that matte was cheap looking but in reality it's very fine and I would even say on some combinations looks better than gloss.

Overall one thing that changes the class of entire car is extended leather, when you compare cars with and without it - it's night and day, makes huge difference.
I'm interested in your opinion on matching matte/gloss/colour coded elements to body colour and which combinations work well - this has been my biggest question on the configurator to date...
Ideally I'd spec Jet Black/RSSpyder in Jet Black/body coloured side blades-mirrors-window trim-rear apron-airblades....but that would mean opting for the Turbo as it's the only one with the lower trim in high gloss
So now I'm thinking of going in the complete opposite direction on a non turbo car and keeping everything matte to match the lower trim and wondering which colour would match it best, I'm veering towards Volcano Grey but wanted other opinions from others that had this same dilemma

Also I appreciate your comment on extended leather and the night and day difference, but was wondering how bad is the standard interior if you didn't have another Macan to compare it to? Does it look bad/cheap? Or is it apparent only when you compare?

After 2+ months with my Macan 4, I wish we had added the thermal/sound glass. Actually, we tried to change the order, but the car was built already, ahead of schedule.

We didn’t order anything we regret. We tend to be very practical in these things.

It might have been a good idea to order rear-wheel steering; we will see when the ski season starts. I did take it to Hasliberg in the Alps yesterday, but passes in summer are no test.

The rear luggage power outlet is ludicrously limited (< 150W) and probably not worth it.

The dashcam pre-wire was useless, because the FitCamX doesn't need or use it.

I wish I'd had the Sport Chrono because of that fourth setting slot on the drive mode. (It's also unclear whether the sport-acceleration setting does anything extra other than suspension?)

Might have gotten the "rugged" front trim (whatever they call it) with an inch of extra clearance.

Regarding the above discussion: I'm getting to like the electric flap a lot :) Also, the thermal/sound windows are great! Also, 14-way seats have the adjustable headrest, so that was the right choice.

I recently went on a trip and plugged in a camping cooler, and it worked fine, meeting my goal. However, anything else is questionable. The "rugged" trim would be the off-road package, and if I ever upgrade, I think I would get it for the extra height but also I recently saw one up close and it looks better than I thought.

My turbo has pretty much every option you can spec on it, and having had several low spec Macan 4 Evs as courtesy cars during my frequent warranty trips (more in another thread) its reminded me how much better the car is with acoustic glass, burmeister, 4 wheel steering, heated carbon alcantra steering wheel, passenger display, Adaptive Cruise, AR HUD, cooling seats etc.

However none of these features work properly anyway so most of them are there on paper only and its a lottery which ones will be working whenever we start the car.

I wouldn't buy another Porsche EV. It's fast and its pretty but as a daily driver its absolutely rubbish. And theres no alternative in terms of performance and visuals so I give up.

I find it baffling that some owners have such a miserable experience with their Macan EV.

Aside from some CarPlay problems early on (which I resolved by deleting my Porsche profile and creating a new one) I haven’t had any strange or intermittent failures. I’ve had my car for six months and it’s been trouble-free for me.

As an engineer I look for patterns, and I don’t see any. 🤷‍♂️
