Any CarPlay issues after updating iPhone to iOS 18.4?

Anyone experiencing CarPlay issues or is it running smoothly for you after updating to iOS 18.4 which was released today?

I delayed updating after my phone after reading this post on MacRumors but not sure if the update is impacting the Macan EV:

No problems with CarPlay after updating to IOS 18.4

Presumably our screen is too small to get the 3 rows of icons that this new update adds?

I’ll wait for a bit and see if there is an update. The site bbmertz linked to has a post saying ….. Had to open carplay settings on the phone, go into the car’s profile. Then in the Toyota settings had to disconnect/reconnect bluetooth to my phone. That fixed it.
Maybe worth a try if there is an issue

There is no issue here with iOS 18.4.

Thanks for all the responses. Since no one reported any issues, I upgraded to iOS 18.4 tonight and CarPlay worked smoothly for me as well but no notable differences.

My only issue has been Waze no wont come up in the center display in front of the steering wheel.

It will only show there while navigating. Otherwise the Porsche maps will be shown.

Have you selected the center tube and scrolled through the different views to select the one with the navigation map?

Yes, sir, I knew it was only with navigation. It would be there and not just a black screen when I scroll to that option.

Widely reported issues on multiple manufacturers with the most recent iPhone update. I’m sure Apple is working on a fix.

Apple released iOS 18.4.1 today, and the update's release notes say it "addresses a rare issue that prevents wireless CarPlay connection in certain vehicles."

If wireless CarPlay was acting up for you, updating your iPhone to iOS 18.4.1 should help.

I didn’t have any CarPlay issues in my 4S with iOS 18.4. Hopefully 18.4.1 doesn’t create new issues!
