We were always going to custom order a 2026. However candidly, and we have concerns for all who might be negatively effected by potential tariff pricing consequences, we decided now was the right time for us to proceed, both specifically because of that possibility AND positively because of all the following:

Our purchased turbo is our right vehicle, a CPO with 1,537 miles on it, with it having 90% of our chosen if-ordered-new options, though missing a few more interior ones we would have chosen; it was priced really, nicely compared to every EV Turbo available right now (used, CPO, and new in stock); was built with all the safety and performance options we wanted, even having RWS which will help us more easily get into and out of our garage; and lastly, it is in our loved Gentian Blue. The first 1/3 of it was even PPF’d before it was ever driven.

The rendering below is the first one we built the day the configurator went live; coincidentally and positively our purchased one has the identical exterior (only difference is our new one also has visible CF side blades).

Its previous “owner” for roughly three months was/is a Porsche exec working at their Atlanta headquarters; as it was never titled we officially are its first owner.

To configurator build this car now with our desired few interior changes would be around $135K; its MSRP was $128K. Before buying it we tried one last ditch option; we called a dealer two days ago asking if we ordered right now and put down a large deposit if there was anyway to protect us from potential tariffs. We were laughed at (at least politely). As delivered but with our desired interior options and if 25% additional tariffs were added, it would have been around $165K. A NFW given our financial priorities...

Our new one’s interior is almost all black, much changed from what we would have ordered, so if you have any suggestions for adding some interior “brightness” at a reasonable cost, please post below. But as we leased it, we do not want to spend a bunch doing so. LOL, our local Porsche dealer yesterday quoted us $5,735 to change its seat belts to Arctic Blue. NFW to that possibility too.

It is now located 3,275 miles from our home in the Pacific Northwest, to be loaded on an enclosed transporter Tuesday. BIG FUN ahead, especially as this will be our first Porsche. SO EXCITED! To celebrate, we bought a $26 carbon fiber key fob case as our welcoming home present for it — and went out to dinner.

We want to you thank you ALL for your smarts, ideas, and input as we have learned so much since joining this forum. A super thanks to daveo4EV who helped us out responding to several of my earlier DM’s — including most importantly three days ago when I asked him, “should we pull the trigger on this one?”

Thank you all again.

ohhhh it has the wheels I want - if you find them missing - don't worry they are being well cared for…

Has cousin wheels to yours. If ours had come with your black ones instead, we would also have been extremely happy. I love driving; I heated cleaning wheels and that both wheels are five-spoke cousins with no tight places hard to get hands into to detail is a mutual “plus.”

Congrats!

I'm curious about ordering from across the country. Did you work directly with the dealer 3k miles away or did you go through your local dealer to have it transfered between dealers. Did the dealer arrange for the covered transport for you?

I worked directly with the dealer that had it in stock for sale.The dealer arraigned for the transporter (with whom they transport all their vehicles, and BTW it is a very large dealer owns quite a few Porsche and other dealerships), to get a specific quote for enclosed transport to me every early on in our for-sale conversations. That was important of course before deciding to buy it. Then upon that dealership receiving my wire payment in full yesterday, I immediately received a call from the transporter company owner. I paid the transporter directly via a credit card and we talked all currently known shipping details; he had a map of my street on his computer screen when he called, adding he would re-contact me on Monday once the six vehicle complete trailer load was compiled; lastly he gave me its preliminary probable departure time and arrival ETA. With my own tractor trailer drivng long distance driving experience, we talked of course of all potential trip factors (including right now a significant snow storm on part of the route). Looking like however that that storm will have dissipated or moved elsewhere before his transporter actually arrives to the storm’s current location. Or a day or two trip length addition could occur.

I can not praise enough the staff of Porsche West Broward (David, FL) for their handling of my entire purchasing process (I sure asked a lot of questions and got in return a huge a lot of information — including a slo-motion, ten minute, up-close walk around (inside and out) of the car. To say PCB’s team was completely candid, forthcoming, helpful, friendly, and kind would all be understatements. I was equally impressed by the transport company owner.

@Fun TC Driving
Congratulations.
You did well to find in the specs you really wanted (almost), and at a good price too, and before the tariffs kick in. đź‘Ť
