I definitely understand your perspective and thought almost exactly the same until days before my freeze date.Even though I live in a mild climate ( not much freezing) I opted out of electric charge port doors mainly because I did not get a good answer on what you do if it does not open. Is there a manual release? Anyway I figure I am at the port location about to plug in so why can’t I just push to pop it open. Seems like it’s another thing that can go wrong but I suppose it’s kind of cool. Anyway after I watched a YouTube reviewer fiddle with it I skipped it.
Base is very poor, Bose is really solid, Burm is very nice but unnecessary. It sounds like Burmester and Bose are not so good, at least in the Taycan. Considering the huge price difference, less is the better IMO
Absolutely agree! My first Taycan was equipped with the standard soundsystem. Never ever again!Base is very poor, Bose is really solid, Burm is very nice but unnecessary.
People are very particular about sound systems, some people will claim they're mediocre, others amazing.
But you want Bose. The base Porsche system is very limited. Bose adds a number of speakers, amp, etc.. If you trust me on anything, trust me that you want to spec Bose.
yeah, the dirt part is a really good pointThank you. I believe i understand. I appreciate your description but having to run my hand across the paint from outside the charge cover, across the cover’s entire width, then onto the paint on its other side, is something I will not do. I am OCD and with even minute surface dust that collects on all its paint from even a short trip, and then my even gently dragging my finger(s) through the dust over the entire cover’s width does not fit into how I maintain my vehicle’s surface. If one could swipe with one’s finger(s) literally hovering above the cover but not touching the paint, that I would gladly do.
As I initially posted, I am still torn whether this option will be part of my purchase plan — for my one fingertip push against a typical spring loaded, one-sided, hinged EV charging port cover (what I have and do now on our iX) is to me a far better choice (as well as using $580 elsewhere).
Of course to each their own.
