Looks sharp. Glad it still trails the Taycan in performance, although just barely.

That's a new purple color for Macan. I wonder if they'll introduce any other new colors for the Macan BEV.

Kyle Conner says that he was told that US cars will get glass roof and air suspension standard, even in the Macan 4 (unless I misunderstood what he said). For me, that's unfortunate, as I want neither (you can currently get the Cayenne and Macan with all-metal roof and steel suspension in the US). I hope that Kyle is wrong. The air suspension keeps causing big problems in Porsches and virtually all other brands of cars that have it; not worth the expense and the potential for break-downs.

break-down potential? sure. Not worth the expense? have to disagree. In fact I won't consider any 4-door Porsche without air suspension.

Do you know of any Porsche or industry data about failure or recall rates for air suspension?

I am very unfamiliar with the issue so not saying you’re wrong. Rather trying to assess how common/widespread it is beyond people talking about it on internet boards (where anything is amplified tenfold).

I have not heard of any Taycan with air suspension problem. I love the ride in my 4s

If you're looking to avoid breakdown potentials, stay away from first production year of a new EV platform from a company which is still learning EVs, online services, software in general. Porsche has way more experience with air suspensions than EV drivetrains, or heaters. As a buyer of a brand new Macan, air suspension would not be anywhere near my top reliability concerns.

I wonder how much of that max power/acceleration requires Launch Mode from complete stop, i.w. how much power/torque is usable for anything other than drag racing.
I was wondering the same. I hope they droped the silly idea of a launch button and just give full power. It does not make sense in an EV.
I am still hoping for a software update to actually get the full 300kw of my Taycan. Instead of the 240kw I have today.

Turbo output numbers are interesting- max power similar to the Taycan Turbos' full-time figure, while max torque significantly higher than even the Turbo S's launch max. Does that mean that the motors run much slower in the Macan (or even that the torque figure is actually in Nm rather than the stated Imperial)? A related point- Vmax is the same as the Taycan Turbo Sedan, which is 6mph more than the Turbo CT.

Not keen on the stacked Taycan-on-stilts look from the front.

New purple looks great, just hope it actually gets ordered.

Looks decent! Sleeker than what I envisioned based on the camo’d versions. That $79k base feels pretty steep but it makes sense positioning it not to cannibalise Taycan sales too much. I definitely would’ve considered it if it was on the market today but still can’t see myself picking the Macan over a Taycan when the price is so close.
