Software updates delaying delivery.

I purchased my Macan 4 EV (off the lot) a week ago, where it has been ever since due to a series of required software updates, the latest of which won't be released for 2 more days

I realize Porsche just wants to get it right, but it is getting frustrating. Have other new owners experienced this?

Admittedly, a first-world problem…

Mine has been stucked at the dealership for 5 weeks!

There are like 15 threads on this topic… it’ll get better at some point. It sucks but not much that can be done.

I couldn't get anyone from the PS dealer to return my calls (the original person did respond via email after 9 days). I went to Riverside and ordered mine. My guess is they don't have a ton of volume so they may not have staff to accommodate or know exactly what to do.

Wait, you bought it and left it there? Are they hitting you with a storage fee?

Definitely not. They've been very nice about it, offer me a loaner, etc.

My Macan 4 had a delay in its delivery, about two weeks. The reason behind it was that one part was causing the update to fail. Now, my Macan 4 has 755 miles on it, and it’s been an absolute pleasure driving it. I ordered it back in March 24th, and I finally got it on October 12th. I absolutely love it!

I’m in a similar boat. Ordered in March. Arrived in Baltimore Aug 1. Delivery to dealer kept getting pushed. It’s been at the dealer for a week and I was supposed to pick it up today, delayed due to software update issues.

I have been borrowing my in laws car for 3weeks and the dealer can’t/wont give me a loaner.

Due to work, it’s very hard for me to take delivery on weeknights.

First world problem frustrations. At least if they offered a loaner, I’d be ok with the wait.

@krishmd That must be hugely disappointing not being given a loaner.
Another first-world problem, especially in the US, is that it's almost totally a car culture. Whereas, European public transport system is pretty good.
Although, as we know, delay has been hugely frustrating for @byebye as well after he sold his car earlier but at least he can, as he said, walk, ride a bicycle, take a bus, underground, train etc. So somewhat better

Seems everybody nowadays want instant gratification and is malcontent if not everything is going to their timeline. I propose all car manufactures stop communicating about where the car actually is, so no anxiety build up when the car is close but not delivered due to reason XYZ … Mine was ordered at launch day, was at the dealer early October … and received it last week … granted there was a one week ppf job done on the car, but they had to replace several parts due to service bulletins and some damage to the frontlip due to transport … I could have moaned, but instead I just waited.
