I'm going to swing a guess here that it works the same as other Porsches. If you select the mirror on the toggle button, it will tilt on reverse. If the toggle button is on neutral, the mirror remains up. (The toggle button being the button you can select left mirror, no mirrors, or right mirror to then make adjustments.)

It's a good system, so I'd be surprised if they changed it.

There is a PCM setting you have to enable first but yes. Then you go to reverse, move the mirror toggle, and you can adjust the mirror exactly how you want it on reverse. It will remember that every time you reverse.

Thats typical for German cars. For those that don't have a center neutral position, if you leave the drivers door selected for adjustment, the mirrors tilt. Left in the passenger door position then no tilt.

yes, this happens on my 4S... but i have not seen option/setting for it. It just done it from the jump. The tilt isn't too drastic either...

i think what ur seeing is just the default tilt out-of-the-box. Once it is in the tilted position, you can use the controls to move the mirror to where you want it. That new position then gets saved as part of your driver profile.

Although from playing around on it, i dont think even the max tilt on the macan is as helpful as the tesla tilt.

This is taken from the Porsche Good to Know app for my 2023 Macan, which I’m sure will be the same, or very similar, for a Taycan:

Swivelling down mirror glass as a parking aid
In vehicles with a memory package, the mirror on the passenger's sideswivels down slightly to show the kerb area when reverse gear is engaged.

Swivelling mirror glass downwards automatically
Ignition switched on.
Function activated.
Vehicle settingsSwivelling down mirror glass manually
  1. Engage reverse gear.
The indicator light on button A for adjusting the exterior mirror on the driver’s side lights up.
  2. Press button Bfor adjusting the exterior mirror on the passenger’s side.
The mirror glass on the passenger's side swivels downwards.
Individually adjusting the position of the lowered mirror glass
  • Move the exterior mirror glass to the required position by pressing button C.
Moving mirror glass to its initial position
The mirror glass swivels back to its initial position when the vehicle reaches a speed of more than 15 km/h (9 mph).

Moving the mirror glass on the passenger’s side to its initial position manually
  • Press button A for the exterior mirror on the driver’s side.
Storing exterior mirror settings

I’ve had no success either, I have Park Assist / Surround View and there are side views but not as easy as just looking at the tilted mirror, maybe I’ll get used to activating side view.

I haven’t figured this out either, but I‘ve taken to using the 360 camera view in lieu. I don’t yet fully trust it, but it does the job of keeping my wheels off the curb…so far.

that’s what I do…. But really trying to automate the dipping process…

maybe someone can be kind enough to explain the step by step process…

I spent time today with the PCM but could not see anything that needs to be set up beforehand….

It does it for me, didn’t set up anything. But it’s not reliable and it does not move low enough when it does work.
