I hope I am not asking a silly question. What is launch control in Macan ev? They listed two horsepowers and acceleration times ones with and ones without launch control. So what is it? Is it flooring the pedal while in sport plus mode? Or is there anything similar to holding brake then flooring gas then releasing brakes like in sporty ICE cars?

This is the data on the differences between Power vs. Overboost Power (with LC):

Electric Macan EV Launch control 1729633887659-ty

This is the explanation of Launch Control.
Please refer to the manual on required conditions and how to engage it.
Have fun!

In addition to the above - to activate it, I suspect itā€™s like all my other Porsches - you press both brake and accelleration pedals at the same time while in Sport or Sport Plus mode until your dash will inducate Launch Control is active and then release the brake pedal. My Macan Turbo is arriving in port tomorrow, so canā€™t confirm first hand itā€™s the same on this car.

Be warned though - thatā€™s a lot of extra sudden power (especially in my 911) so be ready for some snapback and only do it on a wide, onubstructed straight lineā€¦

I think at about the 9:37 mark it shows the driver stepping on both Brake and Accelerator pedals and the dash lights up in Blue to indicate Launch Control is on.

Macan Turbo Electric ordered!

First brake with left foot, hold it.
Then gas with right foot, hold it.
When LC shows ready on the dash, release the brake.

How many km did you wait to do the first launch control? 100, 500, 1000, .... 0km? Did you leave the dealership in Launch Control mode? :p

Is it advisable to do the break-in period first?

I just reserved my turbo, I don't have a delivery date yet.

The manual recommends a 2,000-mile break-in period, but the Porsche specialist insists that is Porsches, it's not necessary. Ultimately, the key question is how long you plan to keep the car.

I did so many 0 to 100 km/h with my Tesla that now I look something else in my Macan. But electric motor acceleration is always a pleasure. Sooner or later I will try it but for now.... I'm good ;)

Electric cars are simply a superior product. The instant torque is exhilarating, almost addictive. I can't understand why some people are so reluctant to even give them a try. Iā€™m a Fā€¦V8 owner with 500 HP,šŸ˜‡

It's really quite strange. I find that ppl that who are against EV's actually know 0 about them. I was talkin to a guy last night who was even against hybrids.... But knows nothing about cars in general...can't even change his own brakes

Two reasons I can think of: "Poor range" and "high cost". Then there is the early adopter massive depreciation. Other than that, I down see a downside to EVs.
