No, its not a matter of camera calibration, this is an issue that effects all UK Macan EVs. The software isn't capable of correctly detecting UK speed limit signs. It will correctly identify some, but by no means all of the limits where the sign gives the number in miles per hour and it fails to identify and interpret 100% of the national speed limit signs the car passes.

@SuperH, I apologise for not letting you know sooner, but I have been advised by the Porsche Centre dealing with my car that Porsche are well aware of this issue and are urgently trying to resolve it. The reason for my silence up until now is that they have yet to resolve a multitude of other software issues with my car, which is back with them as I type.

No apology needed - it’s not your job to act on Porsche’s behalf, so thank you for passing on the info ? I think their to do list is somewhat overflowing with your issues and a multitude of others. I’ve not bothered logging it with my dealer until I hear (most likely from this forum) that a fix has been deployed.

I collect my car on Saturday - it has InnoDrive so I’m sure I’ll have the same issues. I hope that as in my Lexus you can permanently turn off the link to speed limits and then InnoDrive will function fine so not automatically obey limits.

I haven’t trusted any speed limit systems in my last 3 cars - I found adrenalin Is brown when some time ago I was in a Merc on a dual carriageway in a clear outside lane doing 70+ and it fiercely hit the brakes with a ‘full on Audi’ close behind me. It was caused by me overtaking a French lorry which had 50 roundals on the mud flaps ! Since then I have no confidence in the automated speed control systems and with nobody cutting back foliage a lot of signs are obscured, so I think full autonomous driving in the UK is for the birds.

The only issue I have encountered is a unreliable CarPlay connection. It’ll work fine one day and refuse to work the next.

No, I have not. Thanks for the suggestion.

The problem happens at different locations, so I don't think that connecting to my home Wifi is a factor. I've changed the Wifi settings for the car's hotspot to not use a rotating MAC address, I'm hoping that this will make things more stable.

I haven’t cast my vote because the questions are missing scenarios “in between”, where I’m happy with my 4S but not happy that some functions aren’t working (yet).

I took delivery of my 4S on Friday after a 10 days of the dealer’s struggle with software updates. Everything was working supposedly fine on Friday except for remote access through the My Porsche app. The dealer promised It “may cure itself up” in a few days.

On Monday they received an email from Germany with steps to follow to enable the remote access, and so they took my 4S away from me and gave me a brand new white 4 to drive in the interim. 24 h later and I haven’t heard from the dealer. Things aren’t looking that simple it would appear.

So I’m happy in principle but unhappy that it’s not working 100% … to be honest it’s rather frustrating and disappointing.

this washer aim i'm seeing ppl talk about now. I think the jets are aimed relatively high because when you're at speed, it wont just hit the bottom of the screen...

Has any one successfully gotten their washer jets adjusted?

I am getting very annoyed at the small software issues that pop up (luckily only on occasion), but strongly feel the software in general (and the cameras specifically), are sub-par for a car in this price range. The software development and execution should be much better than this on this vehicle. It needs much better software (a new OS?) and I am not sure that is even possible as an update (doubtful is my guess.) This is damaging the brand. I expected a lot better than this from Porsche for a car this expensive.

The OS for the MMI is actually Android, which is Linux, which is about as powerful as you can get...

The problem is the integration to the non-Android bits. Bosch, Siemens and their ilk are not known for their leading edge interactive software design ... and VAG similarly just doesn't have it.

I started joining the news group as I had problems with my Macan. There is obviously a selection bias but even though, poll clearly shows disastrous start for Macan EV. And Tycan wasn't plain sailing either. Fair to say, Porsche underestimated transition to EV platforms and rushing out less than perfect cars. Drive though is utterly brilliant. I reordered so let's see if 2nd is flawless.

Yes the driving is great. I had a chance to spend a day in a Porsche Experience center at Le mans on a circuit and I was very impressed.

Porsche underestimated transition to EV platforms

Most of the problems aren't EV specific. Most of the problems are with the bells-and-whistles modern software features, which seem to be a common theme across all modern cars, not just EVs.

Sure, some of the Taycans had a battery module problem that they didn't have parts for and ended up with lemon buy-backs after they sat for months at the dealer -- but then, that happens for brakes, air bags, and fuel injectors on gas cars, too.

The truth is, modern cars are complex beasts, and lots of what they do is software, and legacy car makers do not have engineering organizations tuned to verifying and shipping software features.

It's not tracking it's the answer of my dealer. Thanks to the proximity of France to germany (Liepzig for the macan) I should be able to avoid the port

My ship went all the way down to Portugal with previous stop in Spain. No idea if it stopped in France as well ;-) Did you get production images of yours?
