Did you RTFM?

Did you read the (fucking) manual of the Macan?

After being away for a little bit, I'm catching up on what happened here and was amused/surprised at all the new threads and questions asked.
Which makes me wonder, do you read the manual of the car or just wing* it?

*Winging it includes asking questions here. 😛

i haven't read it front-to-back, but i've found that the search function for the owner's manual in the phone app is quite good and is also fast. i can usually find the section i need quickly

i started the reading the physical book...kinda browsed through half of it

unfortunately, this is the nature of forums. we're gonna see the same questions over and over for probably the first year or so

Physical book? There's a real book?

Also an engineer so I will eventually read the whole thing.

Thanks - I found that but find it a bit frustrating that I couldn't scroll through the document, having read the page I have to return to the index. I’ll not waste anymore time trying to find a download and just use ‘Good To Know’.

Whilst waiting for my vehicle to arrive, it's helped pass some of the time although I've mainly read sections that i was interested in finding out more on.

Like others have said, the online version isn't as 'casual browsing' friendly as a flat document.

The beginner reads the operating instructions and understands half of them

The advanced user believes that he does not need an instruction manual and only understands half of everything

The expert reads every word and understands more than it says.

For every car I've owned I always pick it up from the dealer then sit on the driveway for the next 3 hours reading it back to front and setting everything up. No point having 'all the gear but no idea'. However - there are loads of settings and features that aren't included in the printed manual. To cut down costs no doubt, but more so because hardly anyone reads them! Thank goodness for forums like this so that us geeks can share our knowledge with the lesser mortals.... lol
