Question on regen …

Never mind the wording, Porsche should correct it. But more interestingly, it would be nice to know if everybody who is interested in doing a comparable test to really get to the bottom of this … almost 6% more efficient is nothing to sneeze at …

So here's an interesting change.... I just took the car to the gym, and i noticed i had no braking regen....
Battery was about 56*f, outside temp is 32*f.... Battery is about 66% charged....
So I'm very curious as to why the car would turn it off. I'd i turned on the "thrust regen", it would happen as usual, even during braking. But with regen off, i had 0 regen on the brakes

Is this a weather dependent thing?

The car relies on friction braking if the battery is unable to accept a charge, either because it's full, too hot, or too cold. But I would have thought that at 56F you would still get regen.

the middle tube with the speed...where the dial goes green or blue.

that's exactly why i was noting the temperatures. the car is garage kept, so that's why the temp was that high when it's actually snowing out...
Now on my way home from the gym, I had regen. The battery was about the same temp...the only difference is now the car sat in the cold for a while...

The only thing i can think of, is that the car wanted to "warm up" the friction brakes...yet, they would have been colder on my way home, when i had regen

Weather (cold) will be a factor for sure as will standstill time.
