I had a similar issue, which was caused by my seat belt/buckle being too low. I simply adjusted it to be higher, and now I cannot hear any rattle.

Amazing! I am glad I could help. I would still recommend a foam of some sort that you can tuck under and you will not see it. The real solution would be hatch adjustment on the next visit as there should be a way to tighten things up.

Please add this to Problems and Solutions thread for all to benefit.

Porsche uses components from a common parts bin shared among VW/Audi/Porsche etc. so as soon as you told me about it, my first thought was, well that sounds familiar and it took me many tries, visits, and rear panel removals to locate and fix. I do not have Macan EV but I had one for a day and did notice that the latch mechanism flap is the same as on the Cayenne but made out of plastic like on an ICE Macan.
Can’t wait to try this!

I would not lube anything. I had a hatch latch on the Cayenne exactly as you are describing making noise when hitting bumps or going over the rough road. I put some felt below the flapper that goes down when the latch closes to make it tighter and that fixed the issue.

When you open your hatch and look at the hook area at the base of the trunk, there is a plastic call it flapper, part that you can push down around the hook that the hatch latches on. Carefully, put some felt or foam below that flapper. So when the hatch latches and pushes on the flapper down, it will hit the foam and will prevent it from making noise, in my case that solved the rattle.
I ll give it a try on my next drive, that noise drives me nuts.
I kept searching for few days where it could come from with great help of my young kids.... thought it was coming from the central armrest on rear seats.
Glad someone posted this issue and thks for the tip

Basic WD-40 is not a lubricant, it is a degreaser. The lubricant needs to be automotive silicone based kind and WD-40 makes one that says Silicone lubricant.
Yes we know that. I just used what I had to hand to see if it would address the issue and sure enough it did and has lasted some weeks now.

I'll wait until my 2 year service and have it properly addressed then.

i am no longer a virgin🤣🫡
Hmm..I’m not seeing a latch where the hatch hook meets the loop. Can someone post a picture?

I am happy to help. Ideally, this needs to be someone with Macan EV, I do not have one, so the pictures are from Macan ICE but the mechanism is the same.

This is the flapper when it is up.

You can push it down like this. The fix is to put foam under it.

i’m confused. I have the same annoying sound, but I don’t have a flap in that area. Any insight from the Macan EV owner who fixed it with paper towels?

Mine looks like this:

You beat me to it. I was going to post the same picture as mine also does not have a "flap." Not sure what the previous poster meant by saying he fixed his.

I only had Macan EV loaner for a day and pretty sure it had the flap as I am showing, but again someone with the Macan EV needs to help out here.

same here, no flap in EU.
I ll keep on investigating on that noise,
My initial guess was to check on the central armrest on back seats or the trunk panel
