MacanEV Turbo on order

Super excited to have ordered our MacanEV Turbo (Copper Red/Chalk). Question - if I usually drive in Sport Plus will the car memory/fob memory keep the car in Sport Plus when I return to the car? My Tesla does this, but oddly enough our BMW iX would not.

I don't believe so, but you can just spin the dial on the wheel. You don't need to go through the screen. Just spinning to the right will instantly swap to Sport Plus.

You can also adjust each driving mode separately and save them. So you can customize the chassis and ride height for each mode.

Having to change the dial each time on a $130k+ car blows my mind. This is standard in cars at a fraction of the price. Frustrating!

what cars can save drive modes?

the drive mode defaulting to Normal is required by most regulations- the GOVT's want the cars when they start up to be in their confirmed/tested emissions modes - after the car starts you can change drive mode to be less emissions friendly - but the car needs to default to the mode in which it passed it's emissions test.

I’ve been able to save in Tesla, Mercedes, heck… even my VW rental this week held the last mode used.

so you have a Turbo on order you're going to cancel?
one thing of note, the ability of it to remember what mode it was left it might vary from country to country.

You should cancel. Porsche is trying to maintain tactile feel to some extent in their EVs. Touching the knob and turning it is part of the experience.

If you want an iPad, stick to Tesla.

With an exception of just one out of five drive modes, you cannot save drive modes on an iX. I always therefore get into the car, change the pre-set drive mode to what I want, then also need to re-set the HUD display to what I always want. Sure I can do these two things fairly quickly but really a PIA on a $118 MSRP SUV.

Yes the drive mode needs to be selected each time …
But the HUD?! It remembers to what I have set it to.

Definitely cancel your order and buy another Tesla. It’s going to be hard for you to remember whether to rotate the knob clockwise or counter clockwise!

It's amazing, someone thinks turning a dial with a flick of a finger is more arduous than say, pressing a stop/start button in a car, or putting a seat belt on
Does your Tesla also remember to do these tasks for you?? 🤔
A car with buttons and stalks is not for Tesla cult, and a Porsche has a lot of these.
You are better off playing with your giant iPad, that sticks out bang in the middle of a car like a barnacle 😂

The hate is amazing. I came here for advice and guidance yet the Porsche fan boys seem to be worse than Tesla's. I am NOT saying Tesla is the best by any stretch of the imagination - simply saying for the cost of the car this is quite frustrating.

100% agree

Never said it would be hard to remember - just stated it's annoying for a $130k car.

No start/stop button to be pressed in a Tesla - from what I remember on my test drive, there is no need to do so in the MacanEV either.

After a near-death car accident in July I can assure you I 100% remember my seatbelt - thanks for your concern.

Again - not looking for the removal of buttons and stalks, not looking for an iPad but appreciate your kind concern.

…….so just buy one of those!!! 🤣
I could do that, but I clearly like the Porsche better. That doesn't mean I need to be a fan boy and love each and every aspect without thinking there is any room for improvement.

Yeah, maybe some of the responses were overreaching but I think ending your original post with "likely a deal breaker" set it off. I don't think hate was intended.
