Stupid question here...........how did you name your car "Night Fury"? Where is it that you can customize this?
In the My Porsche app, click on the icon in the upper right that shows a car parked in a garage, then click on the vehicle’s “More details” link, then the pencil next to the name.

Thanks!!! Now I have to come up with a catchy name for my Gentian Blue Macan Turbo.

Does it track too close even when the distance is set at the farthest level?
In an ideal world you could set how close auto regen it tracks with the Adaptive Cruise Control setting, but it does not work.

AI response on wheels:

The range impact of choosing 22-inch wheels over 20-inch aero wheels on a Porsche Macan EV is influenced by factors like wheel size, weight, aerodynamics, and tire characteristics. Based on available data, here’s a concise breakdown:

• Range Estimates:

• 20-inch Aero Wheels: These are optimized for efficiency, often used in range certification tests. For the Macan 4, real-world range estimates are around 325 miles under ideal conditions (70 mph test, Macan with 20-inch wheels). UK configurator data suggests a WLTP range of ~380 miles for the Macan 4S with 20-inch wheels.

• 22-inch Wheels: These are less aerodynamic and typically heavier, reducing range. A 70 mph test with a Macan Turbo on 22-inch Design wheels yielded ~305 miles, a 6.2% reduction compared to 325 miles with 20-inch wheels. Another test with a Macan Turbo on 22-inch RS wheels reported ~290 miles. UK configurator data for the Macan 4S shows 22-inch wheels ranging from 349–360 miles, a ~5–8% drop from 380 miles with 20-inch wheels.

• Percentage Impact: The range penalty for 22-inch wheels compared to 20-inch aero wheels is generally estimated at 5–10%, with real-world tests suggesting closer to 6–7% for the Macan Turbo. The variation depends on wheel design (e.g., aerodynamic profile), tire type, and driving conditions.

• Key Factors:

• Aerodynamics: 20-inch aero wheels are designed to minimize drag, improving range. 22-inch wheels, especially non-aero designs, increase drag.

• Weight: Larger wheels are heavier (e.g., OEM 22-inch wheels are heavier than 20-inch, though exact weights are hard to find), increasing energy consumption.

• Tire Width: 22-inch wheels have wider tires (e.g., 255/45 front, 295/40 rear vs. 235/55 front, 285/45 rear for 20-inch), which can increase rolling resistance.

• Driving Conditions: Weather, temperature, and driving style (e.g., spirited driving in Sport Plus mode) amplify range differences.

• Practical Impact: For daily charging to 75%, the range loss with 22-inch wheels might equate to ~13 miles less per charge compared to 20-inch wheels, based on WLTP-to-EPA conversions (e.g., 17.2 miles less per 100% charge, adjusted for 75%). This could mean one additional charge every ~6 months for typical use.

Conclusion: Opting for 22-inch wheels over 20-inch aero wheels on a Porsche Macan EV typically reduces range by 5–10% (~15–30 miles), with real-world tests showing ~6–7% (~20–25 miles) loss. If range is a priority, 20-inch aero wheels are the better choice, especially for road trips. For aesthetics or performance, 22-inch wheels may be worth the trade-off, especially with air suspension to mitigate ride quality concerns. Always consider your driving habits and local road conditions when deciding.

just got back from a LA <> SF roadtrip and car drove beautifully! charging at EA also no complaints (maybe only that i wish they had more than 4 chargers at each location)!

one thing i noticed is the porsche navigation is very conservative with battery % on arrival, i think it assumes a pretty high avg speed in its calculations. i was driving 75-80mph yet the estimated battery % on arrival kept growing.

contrast that with tesla, which i think is more elon-esque with its estimates 😂 -- it starts flashing a warning that i need to reduce speed to 60mph in order to reach the destination if i were to go 75+ on that same route.

i much prefer porsche's approach, gives me much less range anxiety.

I have 15k miles on my 4S with 20" wheels.

With true highway driving, mostly cruise control locked 74mph and 82 mph, I was getting 215 to 230 in mild winter conditions and am getting 260-280 in spring/mild summer conditions.

Anyone getting these 300+mi range estimates isn't doing pure highway driving. Period. If you're averaging above 70mph with climate on normally, etc.. you aren't getting 300 miles in this car.

I know people like to exaggerate their range, it's like how people used to exaggerate 0-60 times, but that's what you should expect when driving normally on a highway. Take away 10-15% if you jump to 22" wheels.

Not seeing 10-15% range reduction with 22’s, and of course the reduction is the same percentage for either WLTP or EPA.

Not necessarily. The tests regimes are different, and that will impact the results.

Heavier wheels have more inertia and are more impacted by city driving (stop and go), while the rolling resistance for the same tire circumference tends to be less for a tire with a shorter sidewall, making the larger wheel more efficient. But the larger wheels also tend to be wider, so you get more aerodynamic drag, which of course gets disproportionately larger at speed.

6.2% max reduction tested; even if different testing gives somewhat different results, ddoes not result in 10-15% reductions for 22”’s.

I can hardly wait to share my results in this thread...!!!Thank God summer is almost here and for the next 3 months Sardinia and South Italy will keep me quite distracted from my 4S delivery day anticipation.
I'm super curious to see 1st hand how much the range positive impact will be with my 20' very light forged wheels compared to the originals. If a range similar to 21' summer tires and summer temperatures could be achieved given the 20' less efficient winters and colder temps I would be more than pleased and happy.
