Just drove 2x 370km in cold weather (0-5C) on new winter tires on 21” and was not impressed ;( 29 and 25 kwh/100

Well…I think it all depends on the mix of different driving scenarios. I had a Taycan 4S from Porsche Sydney over the recent weekend on trial, and my *average* consumption I was seeing depended largely on where and how I was driving. Think of: twisty roads (even in the suberbia, which was my case) vs driving in traffic vs just speeding down the freeway. I have to admit I am a spirited driver, and given it was a loaner Taycan, I wanted to put it through paces without much hesitation. As long as you have a good balance of all of them, your averages will be what you expect. In my case, driving that Taycan 4S, and observing the consumption through the day, I would see 30 kWh/100km and 18 kWh/100km. I managed at the end to keep it to 20 kWh/100km for my weekend, and I was quite thrilled about it. I drove in Sport all the time, with A/C and radio on. Sure, if I compare this to my Mini Cooper S E, I do 15.5 kWh/100km constantly (again, always in Sport mode, with A/C and spirited driving) but of course it’s a much smaller and much lighter car. I’m expecting around 20 kWh/100km from my soon-to-be Macan 4S, on average.

I would be over the moon with mixed driving at 20kwh/100km …

And you should be getting it. How far Taycan 4S gen 2 is away from Macan EV? I think they’re on par as far as consumption goes.

I was constant speed on flat highway so...
I reckon it’s the worst scenario as far as consumption goes— you burn a lot of energy without regeneration.

Did a comparison drive home to home loop on the highway so most driving on highway.
IX 50 on 22 inch vs Turbo on 20 inch, no heating except for seat and steering wheel, cold start both of them, both had 38% at the start of the test … The Porsche was lowered and the BMW was on efficiency mode. Both ended with 26% SOC which indicates the iX lost more due to the 10C and battery degradation. Target speed was 123km/h which was maintained as there was no traffic.

That’s interesting. I haven’t got my Macan yet but in my Polestar 2 the best range by far is long distance at constant speed on motorway. I easily get 240 in summer 200 plus miles in winter at 75mph whereas shorter journeys or twisty roads with acceleration deaccelerstion hits range. It’s not just me but seems a normal outcome.
Are Porche that different?
I know they have less regen and no one pedal driving but wouldn’t have thought that makes a difference especially as Polestar gets best range on motorway with regen off so you coast?

That's nice to see! 23.4 @ 123 km/h from cold start at 10c on a shorter trip is solid.

@Salmonfisher yes, steady speed runs are the most efficient way to drive the Macan. I'm not sure what the other poster was referring to.

And this is the range expected (yesterday I did a 290 km/h trip with 45% of the battery - temperature between 2 and 6,5C - elevation between 200 and 1200 meters over sea level):
Yesterday at the end of the trip (started with 90% battery)

Update at 5000 km (1 month and a half).
Still summer tires but temperature in the lower 10C (but still over 0C).

18.7 is a very healthy number, well done

@Diego I don't know you you do it :) tell me your secret.
Mine after 3k is 24,4, half of it on winter tires and lower avg speed.
Temps similar 0-10C so far.

@TomekGnomek I don't know if it this is the secret but I don't use regen at all (I simply brake since Porsche brakes are way better than Tesla)
