today is much better limited elevation gains - clear weather - cool temps - and speeds where we're not holding back - current segment doing 33.6 kWh/100 miles…which vs. yesterdays 38-50 kWh/100 miles

this car is totally different range monster on the segment of HWY from Albuqurque to Winslow, AZ…I think 260-270 miles could be done.

Yes at 5000ft air is thin … hence out of spec is capable of getting these insane numbers

I just did a 435km trip on my first day of really using the car (Macan Turbo, 22” exclusive design wheels):
- about 250km at steady 160km/h - consumption was 37kWh/100km (as I recharged before the return at a highway station for half of this stretch I could get an accurate reading)
- about 100km at steady 140km/h - this section combined with the 130km/h section consumed about 23kWh/100km
- about 25km at steady 130km/h
- the rest at lower speeds (40-100km/h)

Most of it is highway with barely traffic, so little to no regen.

Weather: 20degC in the morning, 32degC at noon. Little wind. AC set at 23.5degC all the time.
Terrain: flat (desert).

I started at 100%, after 310km (basically everything except the last 125km @160km/h), it had dropped to 13%. I recharged at a 180kWh fast charger back to 80% (it kept 180kWh up to about 65%, then started tapering off, reaching 100kWh at 80%). Reached at office @35% SOC. Now letting it charge at a 11kWh charger here in the office for 2.5 hours before it’s time to go home (125km - this morning it used 30% battery for that - all 130-140km/h highway).

Overall consumption for the trip is around 28kWh/100km.

Overall driving impression is amazing - quiet, smooth. The active lane keeping is less accurate than on my Cayenne GTS ‘23 (maybe I need to check if I can make it “more strict”).

@ketje78 so an actual range of 100% to 10% of around 375km and 300km if driven from 80 to 10% at 130 - 140 km/h that is great and good info!

Some more datapoints. Just arrived home.

Temperature: 30degC, AC set to 23.5degC.

Departure@61%, Arrival@30%.

The first 10km were about 80-100km/h. After that 125-140km/h for around 90km. The last 25-26km were more traffic (a short jam and a some slower moving traffic on the highway interchanges, and in the end about 4-5km off-highway driving to get home).

I took 2 pics of the stats - one just before getting into slower traffic. One when I got home.

Seeing some much nicer efficiency numbers.

I'm starting to wonder if there's a longer break in than anticipated? I get regen shows fully active relatively quickly, but it does seem efficiency is improving for people as they get more miles.

I get my car in about a month and do the same 145 mile drive 2-4 times a week. I'll be sure to keep logs from day 1! Curious to see how long it'll take to reach max efficiency

I just wanted to address the thought that short trips are inefficient energy-wise. I really don't think so: below is the only driving I've done today, temps 46-50 F. Home to haircut to supermarket to home. Implied range of 371 miles in this type of driving. (Note yesterday was even better. Maybe because it was warmer out).

Well I’m starting to think there is a big difference between 4 and Turbo, though according to WLTP there should not be … though the average speed on the post of @dgkhn was low and on very short runs I too can get very low consumption …

Maybe it’s related to your location @Yves ?
You are almost the only one here who can afford driving @200km/h ++++ (!) and as a consequence you have effiency figures that include very high speed portions… even though it’s not very long, it costs a lot.
I will see with my own Turbo, soon.

80-90 mph is doable, above that, it’s another story…

I’m in Belgium, not Germany 😉, So my speed limit is actual 120km/h on the highway and 70 km/h on B roads … in general I drive 5 over, so not that fast as in France … Anyway it’s colder now so I will hold reservations till April …

So - as a future EV 4S owner - delivery is February - who purposely kept the 20' wheels - I'm hoping my results will mirror this!

I have recently been driving a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV in Southern California - the car keeps some good statistics. Specifically - over the past 21,000 miles I've averaged 29 MPH, with an efficiency of 4.3 miles / kWh.

Looking forward to the 4S -

I'm getting 3.0 - 3.4 miles/kWh around town in light driving…Macan Turbo EV w/20" standard wheels all season factory tires.
