Extremely hot weather and Macan 4s

Has anyone ever experienced how the Macan 4s react in extremely hot weather? In Greece, during the summer, we typically have temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. Can you imagine the extreme heat inside the car and how the batteries would react in such conditions? If you have a car in those conditions, please share your experience.

I don’t know about the Macan yet, but I previously had a Ford Lightning EV that was all black. Here in Florida it gets really hot, and I never had any issues. Running AC at full power didn’t really effect range, and I find the Macan is more efficient.

And about charging? If you stop on the highway with that conditions is it able to charge immediately?

Not yet tried with the Macan EV, but with my previous EV, charging a hot battery under heavy external temps (40C and more) was not a problem, it was very fast and noisy (because of the Clim and fans keeping the ideal temp).

Actually, it could be a problem when it’s very cold, it’s not when it’s hot!

heat is far less of an issue for EV's than cold - if anything they work better with warm temperatures.

there should be few if any issues - the _ONLY_ possible issue (which at this time is unconfirmed) is how well the cabin AC can keep up with cooling the cabin - but that would be a capacity issue not an inherent EV issue…cooling is far less impact to range vs. heating and batteries perform better in warmer temperatures and the vehicle is able to regulate battery temperature for optimal performance…fast charging should be no issue because battery should already be close to the optimal temperature range for fast charging.

My understanding is that this option is meant for leaving your car parked and unattended, such as for a vacation. It sets the battery to stop charging at 80% (if plugged in) and monitors the temperature to keep the battery cool.

The car will obviously cool the battery as needed when you're driving it, regardless of this setting.

i live in Australia, have had temperature soaring to 40°C++ end of the summer and start of autumn and haven’t experienced any issues.

I've had the Macan 4 EV in 35 C in Florida within the past few weeks. The interior cabin seemed fine with the sunroof closed and the sun shade closed. I don't have additional window tint (beyond the factory specs) yet, because I'm trying to figure out how bad it will be (35 C with sun and no clouds was not a problem). The HVAC system had no problem dealing with 35 C temps and sun.

The car did experience a reduction in range compared to 20 C temps.

Charging was also slower because the charge curve throttled from max temperature faster. It wasn't meaningfully slower in the sense that the systems were no more than 2 minutes off normal for 20% to 80%.

Somewhat related, I just ordered a windshield sunshade for my car. It will soon get very hot in Southern California and I'm concerned about the leather dash.

I searched online and the first few vendors that I tried didn't have anything for the Macan EV yet. I eventually landed on Weathertech's site, and they had a sunshade for the car. It has a foam core and is silver on one side, black on the other (for winter use to help defrost the windshield). It hasn't shipped yet so I can't give my impressions of it, but Weathertech is known for making mostly quality products.

I live in Las Vegas area, where it gets up to 118 F during summer and there's tons of Teslas around so while it's always been a concern for me too, seems it's fine.
