Given the state of the Software I’d not want to be amongst the first to receive an updated version of it. Chances are it makes things only worse

But we all like to be Betatesters anyway, otherwise we would have not bought a brand new car.

I am not sure why it just started showing up as a campaign for some cars recently or why it would be a reason for port hold for newer builds. I have a Macan Turbo help in port, presumably due to this update, but the car was produced in January. Unclear why a January-produced car would not have the software already available since September.

This is why I asked - if anyone has the new software can you please post screenshots of the build/kernel etc

I was just told that VR28.11 was done on ours (took a full day) but since we are a long way away (33 miles) and software and settings have worked temporarily then disappeared as if never set, I asked them to check the most important thing for ours, that it will this time perma-set the “Auto Lift By Location” function (can’t get into our driveway without it working). The are checking that right now before we drive there in their loaner to make the exchange. Fingers crossed this time it sets and thereafter keeps that function.

The way I read the document the VR28.11 update is just a pre-requisite and not the actual fix for the camera problem.

Exactly the question I just reached out to my Porsche center and am awaiting their response. I will share here, though with our Surround View being a standard Turbo option, candidly not feeling a ned for it. But for all others without that option, probably critical based on your individual many posts about the rear camera’s very poor quality,

This is the exact same version we all have, it’s been reported months back in this thread.

If car modules were indeed updated, it’s not reflected in the build of Android. I suspect we won’t see this build change until there is an Android update, no matter how much happens on the car.

i think there is a fundamental misunderstanding how this car / any car works. the android kernel has nothing to do with the sensors or the ways the car works. this would be like to believe the radio makes the music.
