No one, but my point was not that Porsche is modern. I am still very happy with the car though.

BMW, Tesla, Polestar, Hyundai, BYD, Rivian, Lucid, Mercedes can and all do very frequent updates. And there are way more.
haha tesla! you cant be serious . as far i know some of the cybertrucks had not even a navigation for the first 6 months. mercedes ev is a joke, even their dealers tell you not buy it. and the chinese cars? as a tester said: ā€žyou know the difference after the first curve.ā€œ and so on.

OTA is a problem for every brand and has nothing to do with "modern". the user does not read any manual / instructions. (as most of the posted "problems" show) Everybody expects to enter the car in the morning and a brand new software and firmware is perfectly working. NOBODY is able to accomplish this. Not even the big software companies. not Microsoft, not apple. The problems occur not when some hundred pros beta test it, they occur when all the users that have no idea about anything start to use it. I would even say it is not safe to do relevant updates OTA. It is much more considerate to do it in the shop, although it is cheaper to do it OTA.

Let us not start a discussion about other brands, my post said nothing how these cars drive and how they work.
I am only talking about the ability to update the software. My BMW has an update every quarter with zero issues whatsoever. The Macan is still the better car but again, that was not the point of my post.

what ā€žfeaturesā€œ you have optioned for that were not delivered?
1. Second screen is useless without having the ability to control separately the sound, with and/or without an external Bluetooth headphone.

2. 360 view was described, at least on my purchase order, as a 3D system, which is obviously not. On top of that, the 360 view is almost useless to see precisely front and back limits, even in the daylight. Video lacks sharpness, light and contrast (itā€™s easy to tune via softwareā€¦), and definition is so bad (bad material+bad post signal processing )that itā€™s not helping the bad video tuning. in 2012, I had an A6 C7 with 360 view which was so betterā€¦ Come on Porsche, we paid a lot for that.
ā€˜what the purpose of a 360 view if itā€™s not actually helping you to park the car?

3. Separate climate controls: I paid for 3-zones, and I canā€™t disable the third back zone ā€œforeverā€. Separate is separate. I can disable ā€œforeverā€ the Clim for the whole car, but canā€™t just for back.

4. And this is the same for things I didnā€™t optioned, but I had planned to option via the OTA capability:
- When I bought the car in 2024 January, OTA and ability to add extra features (such as innodrive) over the air was in the marketing language. No such thing.
- Keyless (ie via phone) was a forecasted feature, by the end of 2024. No such feature.

5. Generally speaking, OTA is OTA and itā€™s a part of what the Macan PPE is supposed to be, and what we paid for. Meaning, the glitches and minor improvements can find a way to the car without going to the dealership.
I didnā€™t see thatā€¦ yet? Did you?

Yes, those are minors issues regarding the main purpose of a car (the car is so nice to drive and so comfortable), but considering the premium we paid, I think Porsche should consider doing something: communicate, explain and solve.
Of course, Porsche never does anything in this kind of situation: I think itā€™s not good for brand value when there is so much competition coming sooner than later from China.

(ā€œminor issuesā€ from a consumer/owner POV, but inability to do the (at least) same tech as the competition is a Major issue in the long term for a luxury company focused on performance and perfection)

Hopefully, all of that will be solved in next Septemberā€¦ or not?

From a project perspective, CI/CD in a devops/gitops approach is a good way to eliminate glitches and manage risks. Itā€™s a joke to make one delivery per year, itā€™s a shame that Porsche doesnā€™t share the roadmaps and changelog when there will/is an updateā€¦
So with this old fashioned approach that Porsche loves, what can we expect of the next forecasted big update: maybe some features and adjustments, and for sure, new glitches to say the less.

In the meantime, Iā€™m impressed with a system that is stable enough that we can afford to use it almost a year without any significant update!
In this regards, itā€™s a win For Porsche.

Spot on, all points.

Driving dynamic stand out feature but other than that average, or below average (like '360' view)!
Even Chinese very basic EVs excel at cameras :)

I feel sorry for you. And you are right with the separate sound for the passanger screen. the current situation is really absurd und renders this option useless.
a lot of the other complaints are caused by your very early adaptor status and lack of information up front. It is a shame that porsche is not doing more to please the "beta-testers"!
i have seen videos and test of the parking cameras before i have ordered them and i think they are OK, although not the best of course. If yours is so bad, you should complain and claim repair or refund.
I have never seen innodrive anywhere offered as an updatable option. if you have proof that this has been promosed, you should demand to get it.
I have never seen a promisse for keyless entry either but I think it will come soon.
I have not seen OTA advertised as a key feature of this car and I do not want it. It relly makes no sense for things like keyless entry or any other major change or even a major bugfix. Can you imagine what would happen if thousands of users start their car in the morning and something visible has changed over night?
But most important: After 7 happy years with a ICE macan turbo that looked and functioned like on the first day when i had to trade it in (sad), I am so happy with the new turbo! what fun is it to drive it! I can only smile, I am happy. I wish everybody to enjoy and stop looking for minor flaws. There is no perfect car. But having fun has got very rare and very expansive...

Well, Taycans have had this as an add-on subscription offer. My inkling was, too, that as it's already available to add on later for one of Porsche's EV then it should be the case for Macan too.
Porsche were never clear-cut about it that if you don't get Innodrive from the outset, you are never gonna get it.
I think this was the point made by @byebye

i made the experience that one never gets anything later from porsche when i bought the 911 50ies edition and it had no carplay and it still has none. they claimed that it is not possible. i think, if it is possible to get something, porsche has a obligation to provide it. especially for early adopters.

I feel sorry for you.
Donā€™t, no reason!
Turbo is nice (to drive, to smell, to see, to touch ā€¦ well, you see because you own one) , too bad they donā€™t pay attention to more details šŸ˜Ž

To drive the car is great but basic tech such as the 360 camera is years behind other manufacturers. Range Rover Sport system is great and the one in my Audi Etron was in a different lead compared to the Macan, difficult to understand given all VAG. Cheap hardware and poor software me thinks.
